QUILT CLUB - Stitcher's Garden (AM)
January 2018

Instructor: Pam Rackley (pam@mulqueen.com)

Quilt Club is going to be sew exciting this year. We have great plans for you, so plan to join us each month. You will receive complete instructions and a fabric kit to complete one block each month.

The Stitcher's Garden Quilt is a twelve-month Block Of the Month program that gives you the opportunity to utilize your sewing machine and feet. A few of the techniques used include:
* TWIN and WING needles
* BOBBINWORK has been stepped up for more challenges on the flower and leaves using not only #5 Perle cotton but an 1/8" polyester satin ribbon.
* TWISTED floss in front of the needle on vines.
* FRINGE or TAILOR TACK foot is used around one of the centers for a looped edging.
* COUCHING rick rack and 1/8" ribbon adds another dimension to the blocks.
* CIRCULAR attachment is used to create a flower and border.
* RUFFLER is featured to create three flowers.
* BINDER foot is featured not only to bind the quilt but to add an accent
edge to the corner triangles and the edge of the binding.
Each block will give you a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction and pride.
Register early so we can get your kit laser cut.

 Month 1 Block #1
This month, we will begin our adventure through the Stitcher's Garden Block of the Month.
If you registered early enough, your kit will contain laser cut fabrics - what a time saver this is.
You will be quilting your background fabric, using your dual feed foot and quilters guide. Your open toe foot will be used to stitch the appliques in place.
You will need to bring:
Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot control, dual feed foot, quilters guide and open toe foot. You will need 40 wt polyester thread for your quilting stitches and 50 wt cotton thread for the appliques.
Your kit will include complete instructions for Block 1.
