Supplies:
"Edge-to-Edge Quilting on your Embroidery Machine” by Amelie Scott Designs (available at Mulqueens). This book includes instructions and 10 designs on a CD - 3 sizes for each design. Multiple formats are included.
1 panel of good-quality woven cotton fabric. (No smaller than 10" X 20" and no larger then 20"X20". The panel can be square or rectangular.) Keep in mind that the larger the panel, the more hoopings you will need - this means more practice, however, you may not be able to complete the project during class.
1 backing fabric of good-quality woven cotton fabric - preferably at least 10" wider and 10" taller than your panel. If the Backing is a little smaller than as required, that's OK, we can add additional fabric strips.
4 strips of scrap fabric measuring
5"-wide X the WOF (selvage to selvage).
LIGHT-WEIGHT Fusible fleecesuch as Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece that is the same size as your panel.
Some Scrap Fabric and Batting for testing purposes.
Medium- or Heavy-Weight Cutaway Stabilizer - you will need at least TWO pieces of this stabilizer that is at least ONE-inch wider on each side than the hoop you are using.
Clover Double Sided Basting Tape with Nancy Zieman, 1/2-Inch by 7.5 yd
(available at Mulqueens).
Thread – embroidery thread can be used during class with a pre-wound bobbin. Not recommended for quilts for use with lots of wear-and-tear such as a baby quilt.
Quilting thread – you need a strong thread, such as Superior King Tut (cotton) or Superior Sew Fine (polyester). For class, use a high-contrast color thread for top and the bobbin.
Bobbin case - if you have more than one, such as one for sewing and one for embroidery, bring them. Try both to see which one works better.
Topstitch Needle – 80/12 or 90/14 depending on your thread. Janome owners may choose to use a purple-colored needle.
Bring empty bobbins in case you need them.
Machine feet – standard feet for your machine, open toe foot, embroidery foot.

Embroidery Hoop – your LARGEST hoop that fits the machine for use during class.
**VERY IMPORTANT** if the hoop has a PLASTIC GRID TEMPLATE - please BRING to class.
Basic Sewing Kit – good scissors, thread scissors, rotary cutter, rulers, air/water erasable or chalk markers, pins, Clover clips, blue painters' tape, etc.
Sewing/Embroidery Machine in good working condition and all necessary accessories for sewing and embroidering, such as power cords, foot control, correct bobbin casings, extra bobbins, etc. Plus the Machine Manual just in case we need to refer to it to change settings.
Temporary Adhesive Spray and/or blue painters' tape or pink Floriani tape.
Tweezers for pulling up thread.
Large Eye Chenille #22 hand needle if you wish to pull your top thread to the underside.
Your own Iron and Pad will definitely save you time in not having to wait.

Bring lunch or snacks so that we can embroider and sew the entire second day.

For our Organizational Meeting, please BRING:

Your chosen Panel, Backing, the Edge-to-Edge Book, Paper, Pencils and Eraser, Paper Scissors, biggest Hoop, a Ruler or Measuring Tape, Calculator and Scotch Tape, Measuring Tape.
